Why do you need great portraits?

Portraits have been around since the beginning of time, from the day we started drawing on walls followed by paintings and photographs. A portrait is a form of identification telling whoever sees the image that ‘ Yes, this is me, this is who I am , this is what I looked like at this stage in my life’. We are currently living in a visual age, an age where we all need professional headshots. Why? You may ask? Well look at all the different social media you have activated, all the job applications you have filled out. The key part at the start or top of your application is the request for a portrait of you. It even goes further than that. Are you a social media influencer, to a professional business owner who prefers the digital online approach and need professional photos for your website? This is where I come in. With a professional approach, tried and tested due to all my past commissions and experience, you will be left at ease, seeing that I will be capturing the true you in a natural and flattering way. Spontaneity is key. There shall be no altering so as to bring out the real and true you.

Who Else would be interested in headshots?

Of course portraits are needed for things other than just social media. Portraits are used as part of a creatives portfolio, such as musicians, theatre performers and TV/movie actors, fitness trainers, professionals , singers, authors and many more. As described before a portrait is the first step to getting to know someone. Very few people understand how much a portrait can tell about the person it is presenting to the viewer. It still goes beyond the professional use though. A portrait can be given as a gift to someone or used to capture a moment. Be it a gift for a niece or daughter, or even a family portrait so as to keep a memento of a reunion, it is a portrait that keeps the memories alive.

Take it a step further!!!

With most of today’s photography being in digital medium, and with data being stored online for the most part, photography has gone from being a beautiful tangible thing to just another image on your phone or other device. It's great that it can be shared anywhere and everywhere with relative ease, but it all comes at a risk of data loss on hard-disks or even cloud storage. So why not experience being photographed the traditional way, on film? Let’s introduce you to Silver-Gelatin. You will have your photos taken on black and white film, developed, set on a contact sheet with the final selection printed in a dark room. This is by far the best way to go for something which is unique and meaningful.
